Any person or company carrying out the functions of an Owners Corporation Manager for a fee or reward in Victoria must be registered with the BLA. Individual directors of a company do not need to be registered.
If you intend to operate a partnership arrangement with one or more people, each person in the partnership must be a registered manager.
Licensed estate agent's representatives who only perform the functions of leasing or sales for an Owners Corporation rather than the functions of an Owners Corporation Manager do not require to be registered as an Owners Corporation Manager.

New Laws for Essential Safety Measures
Under new regulations, by June 13, 2009, mandatory reporting of Essential safety Measure Maintenance is required for both pre and post 1994 constructed buildings (excluding class 1 buildings) by completion of an annual Essential Safety Measures Report.
In order to complete an Essential Safety Measures Report by June 13 2009, a compliant maintenance program must be in place by June 13, 2008. Read more.
