Honorary membership Owners Corporations Victoria may award honorary membership in recognition of exceptional service. An honorary member may vote at meetings of OCV.
Corporate membership Corporate membership fees are determined as follows:

Sole trader with a membership fee of $430 with the right to nominate the sole trader as a practising member at no additional fee;

Small owners corporations management firms with one - three practising owners corporation managers at a membership fee of $635 with the right to nominate one practising member at no additional fee;

Large owners corporation management firms with four or more practising owners corporation managers at a membership fee of $999 with the right to nominate two practising members at no additional fee.
Corporate members are subject to compliance with OCV's constitution and Guidelines for Professional Practice.
They do not have a vote (although any Practising members employed by a corporate member may vote) however a corporate member may advertise its membership of OCV.
Practising member Practising members will be accepted in accordance with guidelines as adopted by the Council. This category of membership caters for those engaged in delivering services to the public as owners corporation managers.
It is a condition of this category of membership that the practising member is engaged either as principal, employee or on a contractual basis by a corporate member of OCV. The membership fee for this category is $190 per annum.
A Practising member has an entitlement to vote and may advertise his/her membership of OCV.
To be a practising member you must have OCV membership for at least 1 year. Provisional member Provisional membership will be provided to practising owners corporation managers who have not established sufficient qualifications to be granted membership as a practising member or who cannot fulfill other prerequisites for Practising Membership. The fee for this category is $190.
A provisional member does not have an entitlement to vote and may not advertise as a Practising Member but may apply for upgrading after obtaining the qualifications and other prerequisites of a practising member.
Associate membership Associate membership may be granted to those who are not practising owners corporation managers but who wish to involve themselves in OCV affairs. The fee is $810 for one nominee. Refer Associate membership application form.
Associate practising membership may be granted to additional nominees of an associate member. The fee is $125 for each additional nominee.
Provisional Associate member Provisional membership will be provided to an associate who has less than 1 year owners corporation. The fee for this category is $810. A provisional member does not have an entitlement to vote and may not advertise as a Practising Member but may apply for upgrading after obtaining the qualifications and other prerequisites of a practising member.
Personal membership Personal membership may be granted in special circumstances to individuals who may make a contribution to OCV as practising owners corporation managers but who are not employees of a Corporate Member.
Personal membership fee is $430 Personal Members possess voting rights but are not entitled to advertise as members of OCV.
Affiliate membership Affiliate membership will be granted to indivudals who are not employed by or involved with an organisation that could reasonably be expected to be corporate or associate member. Affiliate members could be a nominated committee member of an owners corporation or an inexperienced individual seeking employment in the owners corporation management industry.
Affiliate Support Staff membership is also available for individuals who are employed by a corporate member , but do not fulfil the role of a owners corporation manager
The fee for owners corporations joining as affiliates is <50 lots $265, >50 lots $525. The fee for individuals seeking employment in the owners corporation management industry or employees of corporate members is $85 Advertising as a member Only Corporate, Practising and Associate Members are entitled to advertise their membership of OCV.
Provisional, Personal and Affilliate Members may not advertise themselves as members of OCV.
"Advertising as a member" means publicly announcing or displaying, either orally or in writing, the relationship of the individual to OCV as a member of any membership category.
Voting Rights Provisional and Corporate Membership shall not carry the right of voting at any meeting of OCV.
Certificate of Membership The Council may issue a Certificate of Membership to members indicating their class of membership.
The Certificate of Membership shall remain the property of OCV and shall be returned to OCV on demand or upon cessation of membership.
Application Fee A non-refundable application fee of $85.00 must accompany all new applications.

Application Process As per the Constitution, membership applicant names are circulated to members via advertising names on the members section of the web site and giving existing members 30 days to notify Council of any relevant matters. After this 30 days the application will be considered at the first opportunity at the meetings of the Council of OCV.
All papers supporting an Application must be with OCV at least 14 days prior to the meeting to be considered.
POST NOMINALS …It’s all in a name Owners Corporations Victoria Inc. awards individual members with an entitlement to use post nominals following an assessment of their competency and ethical standing within the profession. The awarding of post nominals is designed to:
- Differentiate the credentials of members
- To assure the public of the high ethical and professional standards maintained by Institute members
Members must meet the criteria each year to maintain the awarded post nominal, failure to meet requirements will result in post nominals being revoked and membership reverting to provisional.
The post nominals follow a person’s name, for example John Citizen CPSM, and can be used on business cards, the signature block on correspondence and similar material.
The Council have endorsed the use of four post nominals for members of OCV, these being:

ASM (Associate Strata Manager) |
For Associates that have been members for at least 1 year and have shown a commitment to ongoing professional development through adherence to the CPD program | * The post nominal requirements were reviewed in August 2006, a staggered implementation plan is being undertaken. * The only post nominal to be awarded in 2006 and early 2007 will be PSM and ASM. All levels of post nominal will be available mid 2007. * The post nominal requirements were developed with the assumption the Certificate IV in Property (Operations) will be available in 2007.
