OCV is committed to expanding its education and training role underpinned by the deployment of the national competency standards and qualifications. This will deliver a common and nationally driven approach to the education, training and assessment of owners corporation managers for the first time.

National Competencies & Nationally Recognised Qualifications
The Owners Corporation Management Industry for many years has been inappropriately aligned with the Real Estate Sector; the national industry body, the National Community Titles Institute ( NCTI ) has been working for the past 8 years to correct this. In July 2004 the owners corporation management industry was fully endorsed in the Property Development, Sales & Management [PDSM] Training Package with national competency standards which will now support the development of appropriate education. A national training package has now been developed and training and is now available through OTEN (17685 Property Services (Operations) Certificate IV). OCV through the National Community Titles Institute is committed to the implementation of appropriate education and has been instrumental in ensuring that the strictest licensing requirements by industry practitioners in NSW will be included in the owners corporation management training package. Thus, though Victoria in terms of government regulation only requires registration of owners corporation managers and this does not include any qualification requirements, OCV is committed to self regulation  and the implementation of appropriate education which supports professionalism and protects consumers.

CPP07 Property Development, Sales & Management [PDSM] Sector
Qualifications covered by these compentency standards include the Certificate III and Certificate IV in Property Services (Operations).
